Numbers you should know regarding the workers' compensation timeline:

  • 120 days: that’s how long you have to report your injury or knowledge of a work-related disease to your employer. If you don’t, no compensation is allowed.
  • 21 days: your employer will immediately notify their insurer or whoever manages the company’s workers’ comp program. Within 21 days, your employer will either accept or deny liability.
  • 3 years: if your employer denies liability, you have 3 years to file a claim petition. This will likely go to a judge, who will hear evidence from both parties and render a decision, which can also be appealed.

During this process, it is absolutely in your best interest to work with an attorney you can trust. At Prenatt Law Office, we’ll provide you with representation that fights to get you the benefits that you deserve. Call today to set up your initial consultation!
